Jul 2, 2025 | News, Blog

Dorchester Habitat for Humanity is proud to announce Tim Lengen as the new Chair of the Board. With a career grounded in real estate development, land acquisition, and community empowerment, Tim brings a wealth of experience and vision to help guide our organization into its next chapter.

Tim currently serves as Regional Manager of Land Entitlement at NVR, Inc., where he plays a key role in shaping the built environment across communities. Previously, he spent over six years at Lennar, holding multiple leadership roles, including Director of Due Diligence and Land Entitlement Manager. His professional journey has taken him from Raleigh to Charleston, always with a focus on responsible growth and strategic development.

A proud graduate of Clemson University with a Master’s in Real Estate Development and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Niagara University, Tim has cultivated a strong foundation in both the financial and practical aspects of real estate. His early career even included a stint in M&T Bank’s Management Development Program, highlighting his well-rounded approach to leadership and service.

Tim joined Dorchester Habitat’s Board of Directors in 2023 and was recently named Vice Chair in July 2024. Now, as Board Chair, he’s ready to lead with a focus on mission-driven impact.

“It is an honor and a privilege to step into the role of Board Chair for Dorchester Habitat for Humanity,” Tim shared in a welcome letter to the community. “As someone who deeply believes in the transformative power of homeownership, I am excited to help lead this organization into its next chapter of growth and impact.”

Since 1993, Dorchester Habitat has helped build 78 homes in partnership with hardworking families. Yet, the challenges facing affordable housing remain substantial, including rising costs, limited land availability, and stagnant wages. As Board Chair, Tim is prioritizing land acquisition at the top.

“Without land, we cannot build homes,” he noted. “My goal is to expand our footprint by securing land that allows us to build more houses and serve more families.”

To achieve this goal, Tim is committed to fostering stronger relationships with local government and community leaders. By fostering partnerships with Dorchester County, the Town of Summerville, and other key stakeholders, he aims to develop innovative, long-term solutions to the housing crisis.

“I believe that when we come together—government, nonprofits, businesses, and individuals—we can create lasting change.”

Please join us in welcoming Tim Lengen as our new Chair of the Board. We are grateful for his leadership, vision, and dedication to putting God’s love into action by building homes, communities, and hope.
