A letter from Dorchester Habitat for Humanity’s Executive Director Jaye Jones Elliott:

And now these three remain faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:13

Thank You for your partnership with our nonprofit organization Dorchester Habitat for Humanity, and for continuing to do the hard work required in these times to show God’s love to all people. You are the face of Dorchester Habitat for Humanity. Now, more than ever, our world and neighbors need to see and feel the love you demonstrate by partnering with Dorchester Habitat for Humanity.

Be assured that faith, hope, and love guide Dorchester Habitat for Humanity’s Team (that includes YOU) through the COVID-19 crisis. Together we are strong and will continue to build to fulfill our mission of “Putting God’s Love Into Action by Bringing People Together, Building Homes and Hope.”

The COVID-19 crisis has further exacerbated the need for affordable and decent shelter and the lack of opportunity to gain access to affordable shelter. “Home” is more important than ever to all of us. “Home” is a basic need.  “Home” is a foundation from which we build upon to improve our lives.

For more than 27 years, Dorchester Habitat for Humanity has partnered with you to demonstrate God’s love to all through the difficult work of building 70 Homes and rehabilitating 3 Habitat Homes. I do not doubt that how Dorchester Habitat for Humanity works to fulfill its Mission will look vastly different in 27 years. My prayer is that Dorchester Habitat for Humanity will remain true and faithful to fulfilling its Mission by demonstrating God’s love to all.

Thank You for moving forward in partnership with Dorchester Habitat for Humanity by showing God’s love to everyone through the difficult work of addressing the need for and creating opportunities to access affordable and decent housing in Dorchester County.

Blessings and Love,

 Jaye
