Current Construction News 2008 Apostles Build

The Ladson Family

We have begun construction at 23 Craig Court in Summerville for the Ladson Family.

Twelve churches have come together to help the Ladsons afford a home by providing financial, physical and spiritual support. We call this an Apostle's Build. With the help of these churches, the foundation has already been poured. Our Apostles are: St. Paul's Epicopal Chuch, Seacoast-Summerville, St. John the Beloved, Knightsville UMC, John Wesley UMC, Bethany UMC, Summerville Baptist, Stallsville UMC, Fellowship of Oakbrook, Summerville Presbytarian, Dorchester Presbytarian, and Covent Life Church.

This fall we plan to break ground on three new homes for deserving families - please come and join us either as a volunteer or a donor.

We have 7 deserving families approved for a home, but we are short of land. If you have land to donate or are willing to support the purchase of a lot, please contact Star Callaway at 851-1414.

If you are interested in housing, you must meet certain guidelines and follow certain procedures. Please view our Homeownership page to learn more.

Dorchester Habitat ReStore Logo

The ReStore provides buyers with gently used household items and building supplies. The proceeds of these purchases support Dorchester Habitat for Humanity’s mission to build more homes for those in need. Our new facility at 101 Greyback Rd is much larger than our old one. Also, it is air-conditioned for your shopping comfort! Come visit us at our new location!

The ReStore needs your used items for resell. You get a tax-receipt and more room around the house. The community gets affordable items, and the landfills do not get filled as quickly. Everybody wins when you donate to the ReStore.
