The Reid Family

Allette attended the application seminar in January of 2007 and was approved by the board in August of 2007. She overcame lots of obstacles to finally make it into a home – and had her dedication on July 11, 2010 for the Lowe's build home.

She and her son, Jabari Clarke (who is a senior this year and will attend Summerville High), lived in a 1 bedroom home and shared the very cramped quarters. The place was not insulated – very cold & had high electric bills. They moved out of a nicer apartment and area because the rent continued to increase and was over $650.00 a month.New Homeowner

Allette continues to try and improve her life and has been attending Trident Technical college. She works for Diamond Security and has a long work history in this type of field.

She worked almost every week on the Lowe's build site (her future home),worked at the Women's Build meeting handing out flyers, worked the Azalea Festival, the oyster roast, and the cottage tour – just to name a few.
